DUBAI – Several major attractions across Dubai have temporarily closed as precautionary safety measures following official guidance.
The closures affect some of the city’s most visited leisure destinations, including theme parks and entertainment hubs.
Authorities and operators confirmed that the measures are aimed at ensuring the safety of visitors and staff during the ongoing situation across the UAE. Several venues announced the temporary shutdowns today, March 5, while advising guests to check official websites for updates before travelling to the locations.
Ain Dubai
Ain Dubai, the world’s largest observation wheel located on Bluewaters Island, confirmed that it will be closed to visitors on Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6.
The attraction, which offers panoramic views of Dubai’s skyline and coastline from its rotating cabins, announced the temporary suspension of operations as a precautionary measure following official guidance.
Visitors who already hold bookings or tickets for the coming days have been advised to monitor updates through the attraction’s official website before planning their visit. The operator has stated that guests should check the latest information online to stay informed about reopening timelines and operational updates.
Dubai Parks and Resorts
One of Dubai’s largest entertainment destinations, Dubai Parks and Resorts, has also confirmed temporary closures across its theme parks.
The integrated leisure complex, which includes the attractions Motiongate Dubai, Real Madrid World, and LEGOLAND Dubai, announced that operations will remain suspended on Thursday, March 5 and Friday, March 6.
The destination also includes the waterfront retail and dining district Riverland Dubai, which forms part of the larger resort-style entertainment complex.
In a statement shared on social media, the destination confirmed that the closure is being implemented as a precautionary safety measure in line with official guidance. Guests who have already purchased tickets or made bookings have been advised to check the resort’s official website for the latest operational updates before visiting.
The destination is one of the region’s largest integrated entertainment hubs, bringing together multiple theme parks, family attractions, dining outlets and retail experiences within a single resort-style complex.
Global Village Dubai
Another major attraction affected by the temporary closures is Global Village, one of Dubai’s most popular seasonal cultural and entertainment destinations.
The outdoor attraction confirmed that its closure, which initially began on Sunday, March 1, has now been extended until Friday, March 6. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure following official guidance to ensure the safety of visitors and staff.
Global Village typically attracts large crowds during its operating season with its combination of international pavilions, cultural performances, dining options and shopping experiences representing dozens of countries.
In a statement shared on social media, the attraction reiterated that it will remain closed until the end of Friday, March 6, while closely following official directives.
Dubai Festival City Mall
At Dubai Festival City Mall, retail outlets and restaurants remain open to visitors, and the destination continues to operate normally in terms of shopping and dining.
However, the mall confirmed that its scheduled Ramadan drone show has been postponed until further notice.
The popular nightly waterfront spectacle combining water, light and laser effects continues to operate, allowing visitors to still enjoy the destination’s signature entertainment experience along the creekside promenade.
Mall management confirmed that while the drone show celebrations have been suspended for the time being, the rest of the venue’s retail and dining facilities remain accessible to the public.
